NUMBING CREAM

THINKING OF USING NUMBING CREAM?

I totally get it..

At some point we all get a little tired of getting tattooed and consider using numbing cream. Numbing cream can be especially helpful for sensitive areas and large on-going projects.

If you have decided to use numbing, please consult with me first via email and read all of the info below..

WHICH BRAND TO USE..

There are lots of options out there, ranging in price and quality!

The brand that I recommend is ZENSA, which is available on Amazon for $40.

WHY I CHOOSE ZENSA

  • Zensa is gentle on the skin, it doesn't negatively affect the tattooing or healing process. Some numbing creams can make the skin difficult to work with during the tattoo, others can pro-long the healing process.

  • Zensa is affordable and great value for money. Numbing creams can range from $5 to $100! I've found that Zensa is one of the leading numbing products for a generous price.

  • Zensa works well! Zensa numbs the skin well and can last unto 2 hours depending on the area of the body. The numbing also wears off gently, so you don't have a sudden shock when feeling starts to return.

HOW TO APPLY

APPLYING THE CREAM..

There are certain steps you must take to apply your numbing cream successfully. Please follow the following steps for the best results!

STEP 1

TAKE A WARM STEAMY SHOWER AND CLEAN THE AREA

This will open your pores and allow your skin to absorb the numbing cream.

You must apply the cream two hours prior to your appointment.

STEP 2

DRY THE AREA AND APPLY A THICK LAYER OF NUMBING CREAM

Thoroughly dry the skin with a clean towel and apply a thick layer of numbing cream. You must use a thick layer so that the cream will successfully smother the skin.

STEP 3

WRAP THE AREA WITH CLING WRAP

Wrap the area with cling wrap, allowing the numbing cream to sit on the skin for two hours. Using cling wrap will stop the cream from drying out and will allow the skin to absoarb the cream successfully.

Be sure to wrap the area consistently so that the cling wrap doesn't move around and expose any areas of skin whilst you are numbing.

STEP 4

YOUR TATTOOIST WILL REMOVE THE CLING WRAP/CREAM

Once you arrive, I will remove the cling wrap and safely clean the area.

Please time your process correctly, so that you have had the numbing cream on for 1.5 - 2 hours prior to your appointment time.

LARGE SCALE WORK

If we are working on a large-scale piece, please bring your numbing cream along to your appointment. We may be able to numb different areas strategically throughout the day.
